By bringing together renowned experts in medicinal chemistry, specialist chemistry, translational biology, ADMET & DMPK, Concept’s Integrated Discovery Services division can add value to a discovery programme and enhance its probability of success. Our policy is to employ large numbers of highly qualified scientists, who can add value to collaborative projects and engage in science-led peer-to-peer discussions. This not only solves problems, but also helps to drive the science to a successful outcome. When it comes to solving difficult synthetic chemistry problems, Concept’s unique track record spans over 25 years, encompassing pharmaceutical research to materials science, from milligrams to kilograms. Our biology, ADMET and toxicology groups work closely with our medicinal chemists to understand the effects of a chemical on a living system. We optimise the compound’s activity by factoring the in vitro ADMET properties into its design. This helps minimise off-target effects. As part of this process, our investigative toxicology group designs and performs experiments to characterise potential (for example on-target) or observed toxicity issues. By understanding mechanistic toxicology at this early research stage, we generate information that informs molecule design, candidate selection and translational risk assessment.
