Voting for WEST’s 10th Annual Giving Back Awards is now open!
WEST, or Women in the Enterprise of Science and Technology, is a Boston-based organization that supports early and mid-career women in the fields of science and technology through professional development workshops and networking opportunities. Its programs are designed to “enhance skills, develop professional networks, provide inspiration, and empower women to achieve their full potential.”
Every year, WEST holds Giving Back Awards, which honors role models who balance job and personal responsibilities while making a different in their community. We were thrilled to see MassBio members dominate the list of nominees, including representatives from Takeda, Alnylam, Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard, Biogen, FORMA, Casebia, Hydra Biosciences, Alexion, Bioverativ, Decibel Therapeutics, Harvard Medical School and F-Prime Capital Partners. Not only that, but MassBio’s CEO & President Bob Coughlin has been nominated for the category “Guys Who Get It.” Men are such a critical part of improving gender diversity in the life sciences industry and WEST recognizes their important role.
Voting is taking place now through December 16th. Cast your votes here. Winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony on January 25th.
Although there is much progress to be made in closing the gender gap, it’s important to recognize the great work already going on in Massachusetts and around the country. We’re proud to see our member companies committed to enacting change – and even prouder to see so many strong women make this year’s list.
