June 6, 2019 (CAMBRIDGE, MA) – The Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio®) today announced that Eppendorf, the leading life sciences company that develops and sells laboratory instruments, consumables, and services, has become a MassBio Edge Preferred Partner for its state-of-the-art pipette calibration services. By aggregating the purchasing power of the 1,200+ member companies within MassBio, MassBio Edge allows members to have a strong presence in the marketplace and benefit from competitive discounts and premier customer service, which saves members more than $75 million each year.

Through this preferred partnership, Eppendorf offers MassBio members an average discount of 34% and the availability of equipment and consumable discounts through Fisher Scientific. Additionally, members will have the opportunity to receive on-site or off-site pipette calibrations and access to easy account set up, order processing, and payment. ISO 17025 accredited calibration processes are available in the field or at the service center, leaving every pipette in conformity with ISO 8655 or manufacturer’s specifications.

“At the epicenter of the Massachusetts biotech cluster is a vast hub of research and development that is reliant on accuracy and quality,” said Jason Cordeiro, Vice President of Consortium Operations, MassBio. “We are committed to supporting our members through this process and Eppendorf’s pipette calibration services helps pave the way. The company’s attention to detail with maintenance and calibration goes beyond the regulatory check box and guarantees consistent results for our members.”

Founded in Hamburg, Germany in 1945, Eppendorf now has subsidiaries in 26 countries and is represented in all other markets through distributors. Its products are most broadly used in academic and commercial research laboratories. Eppendorf’s technicians can work on any brand pipette and maintain manufacturer specifications for over 4,500 models of pipettes.

“As one of MassBio’s Preferred Partners, we’re looking forward to working with MassBio members to provide the finest services and ensure the life of every pipette,” said Bob Fortin, Director, Global Key Accounts, Eppendorf. “Our highly-qualified technicians go through 200 hours of training and must pass rigorous exams to become certified before servicing pipettes. They check every pipette, inside and out, to restore it to the optimal working condition – it’s like a spa for your pipettes.”
