BioIVT Webinar Will Discuss How to Manage Uncooperative Drugs in In Vitro Transporter Research

Sep 19, 2023

Webinar will present practical strategies to achieve definitive results when researching unstable, sticky, or insoluble compounds

BioIVT, a global research partner and biospecimen solutions provider for drug and diagnostic development, is hosting a webinar entitled “Uncooperative Drugs in In Vitro Transporter Research: Practical Approaches to Address Instability and Nonspecific Binding Challenges” at 11 am ET on September 20.

“In vitro drug transporter data are critical for understanding a compound’s drug-drug interaction potential. But if the compound being investigated is unstable, sticky, or insoluble, generating conclusive results can be difficult. I will discuss several of the challenges involved and share some approaches we have taken in our lab to address them,” said Dr. Joanna Barbara, Site Lead, ADME Research Services and Products at BioIVT.

During this webinar, Dr. Barbara will outline test system and platform limitations in transporter research and offer practical approaches to account for compounds’ nonspecific binding and instability. She will also present three intriguing case studies in which creative solutions were employed to convert initially confusing results into useful data.

Dr. Barbara is an architect of and an active participant in BioIVT’s new tiered, ‘fit-for-purpose’ in vitro ADME research services, which include metabolism, drug-drug interaction, and transporter programs.
