About Mike

Mike O’Hara recently retired after a distinguished career in the life sciences and healthcare industries.  Most recently, he led Deloitte’s life sciences audit practice in New England.  In addition to serving many life sciences companies in various capacities, Mike also served as audit partner for publicly traded and private life sciences companies and large integrated healthcare systems, and therefore has a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare industry.  Mike has been involved in several IPOs, mergers and acquisitions engagements, financial forecasting projects, and value-added projects on accounting and financial reporting.  Mike has assisted his clients through product launches and rapid growth phases, including advising on financial and operational infrastructure challenges. In addition to his role as Treasurer of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council, Mike is the Treasurer, Director, and Audit Committee Chairman at the Institute for Protein Innovation, a member of the AICPA and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, and is an adjunct professor of accounting and auditing at Boston College. 

Mike received his BA from Oneonta State University and his MBA from Boston College. He resides in Medfield and Eastham, MA with his wife Maryclare, son Liam, and daughter Maeve.
