
Workforce Training Centers in Boston & Lowell
In January 2024, MassBio launched Bioversity, a 4,000-square-foot workforce training center located at the Southline Boston development in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood. In March 2025, Bioversity will welcome its first cohort in Lowell at UMass Lowell.
At these facilities, Bioversity delivers a free 8-week training program for adults with a high school diploma, providing them a pathway toward rewarding entry-level careers in the life sciences. The curriculum focuses on developing learner’s technical skills as well as soft skills necessary to succeed and advance in a life sciences career. Bioversity has already placed students with AbbVie, Abcam, Flagship Lab Services, Foundation Medicine, and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

- Average pre-enrollment income of $28,000 soars to $56,000+ after job placement
- 700 applicants and counting
- 96% of enrolled students are Black and/or Latino
- 76% of students live in Boston neighborhoods
- Graduates are landing full-time employment in roles like Lab Support Technician, Logistics Technician, Manufacturing Associate, Molecular Technician Associate, Senior Site Specialist, and more.
