Overview
The Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research is a non-profit, independent basic research and educational institution recognized for path finding programs in cancer and AIDS research, genetics, cell biology, transgenic science, and structural biology. The Whitehead is home to the Whitehead/MIT Center for Genome Research, the largest genome research sponsored by the National Human Genome Research Institute of the National Institutes of Heath.
