Survey: microcultures in biotech

Posted by Fulcrum Therapeutics

In 2024, there were more layoffs in life sciences than the three previous years combined. Negative trial data, lack of funding and other environmental issues led companies to shrink their staffs quickly. As other companies are growing and hiring, there has been a rise in microcultures. Small groups of people from one company move to a growing company either together or via referrals and bring part of their previous culture with them.

I am working on gathering data to co-author a book with my sister, Lisa, on the rise of microcultures in biotech and I’d love to get input from the Mass Bio HR Community. This survey is for anyone who has experience seeing microcultures in their company and are interested in taking a quick survey.

Here is a link to the survey. We will share a synopsis of the results once the book is published and the first 20 people to complete the survey will receive a free copy of the book once it is available.
