Greenberg Traurig’s Robert C. Ross Elected to Massachusetts Taxpayer Foundation Board of Trustees

Robert C. Ross, of counsel in Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Boston Government Law & Policy Practice, was elected a Massachusetts Taxpayer Foundation (MTF) board trustee at its annual meeting earlier this month. 

Founded in 1932, MTF is a public policy organization that researches and analyzes state and local fiscal, tax, and economic policies, according to its website. As a member of the board, Ross will support MTF’s research and reform and the development of constructive public policies. 

As of counsel in the firm’s Government Law & Policy Practice, Ross advises businesses and other organizations in a wide range of complex regulatory, governance, and transactional matters. He assists both established and emerging businesses and nonprofits looking to do business in Massachusetts, especially those in highly regulated areas, such as life sciences and energy. 

Ross has over 20 years of experience advising senior government leaders in a variety of state government roles in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Most recently, Ross served as chief legal counsel in the office of Massachusetts Governor Charles Baker. In this role, he oversaw a team of in-house attorneys and advised the governor’s office and state agencies on myriad issues, including the Commonwealth’s COVID-19 pandemic response. He also oversaw litigation and approved settlements on behalf of the Commonwealth and was deeply involved in the preparation of annual state budgets and other legislation.
