Webinar Overview

Titled “Multimodal profiling of biostabilized human skin modules reveals a coordinated ecosystem response to injected mRNA-1273 COVID-19 vaccine,” this webinar will highlight how advanced bioengineering techniques offer an unprecedented look at immune cell activity. Dr. Manon Scholaert, Scientist at Genoskin, will guide us through the groundbreaking platform that allows for long-term monitoring of immune responses in ex vivo human skin models.

Using the mRNA-1273 COVID-19 vaccine as a case study, Dr. Scholaert will demonstrate how dendritic cells, macrophages, and mast cells interact and communicate within the skin’s immune environment. These insights have the potential to inform the development of new vaccines and therapeutics by revealing how human immune cells respond to immunogenic substances in real-time.

About the Speaker

Dr. Manon Scholaert holds an engineering degree in Biology from INSA Toulouse and completed her CIFRE PhD in collaboration with the Toulouse Institute of Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases (INFINITY) and Genoskin. Her work focused on developing the MANTIS spatial biology method, a multiplex imaging technique for immune cell study in human skin. Her research includes investigating immune responses in the ex vivo HypoSkin® model following mRNA COVID-19 vaccine injections. Since October 2023, she has been a Scientist at Genoskin, continuing her work on multiplex imaging and immune responses using the VaxSkin® platform, with a focus on vaccine-related immune studies.
