According to the American Cancer Society, about 2 in 5 men in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. Some of the most common cancers in men are prostate, lung, colorectal, and skin cancers. With the burden of these cancers continuing to rise, it is imperative for men to monitor their health and arm themselves with knowledge on screening and treatment options.
Screening and early detection measures for cancers that disproportionately impact men can significantly improve health outcomes, as diseases caught early often have more (and less invasive) treatment options and higher survival rates.
This November, Men’s Health Awareness Month is dedicated to promoting practical knowledge on the growing health risks that men may face. In support of this initiative, NCCN Foundation is proud to share our patient resources designed to guide men with cancer, their caregivers, and loved ones through every step of their cancer journey.
