Sterling Corporation’s Dan Markow Named to Boston Business Journal’s 2025 “40 Under 40”
One of just 11 CEOs honored among Boston’s top young leaders shaping business and community impact.
[CHELMSFORD, MA, September 8, 2025] — Sterling Corporation is proud to announce that its President and CEO, Dan Markow, has been named to the Boston Business Journal’s 2025 “40 Under 40” list, which recognizes young professionals making outstanding contributions to local businesses and their community.
Selected from more than 300 nominations across greater Boston, Markow joins an elite group of 40 honorees celebrated for their achievements, innovation, and leadership across industries ranging from finance and healthcare to technology and life sciences. The recognition underscores his role in driving Sterling’s continued growth and advancing logistics solutions that support some of the region’s most innovative sectors.

Markow has been instrumental in expanding Sterling’s Life Science Logistics division, including the launch of its state-of-the-art Tewksbury facility opening this fall. With over 70 years of company history behind him, he continues to carry forward Sterling’s legacy of precision, compliance, and care across all areas of logistics.
The Boston Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” honorees will be formally celebrated at an evening event on October 15, 2025 at Caveau in Boston.
About Dan Markow
Dan Markow is President and CEO of Sterling Corporation. One of just 11 CEOs named to the Boston Business Journal’s 2025 “40 Under 40,” Markow has grown up with the company, starting at 16 as an entry-level mover and working his way through nearly every department. While earning his degree from Northeastern University, he gained experience in Finance and Sales before beginning his full-time career at Sterling in 2011. Over the years, he advanced from Dispatcher to Director of Operations, and today leads Sterling alongside Jerry Markow, steering its continued growth and reputation as New England’s largest moving and logistics provider.
In addition to leading Sterling, Dan was recently appointed to the Middlesex Community College Board of Trustees, recognizing his longstanding commitment to workforce development and education across Greater Lowell. In 2024, he also founded the Markow Family Foundation; an initiative rooted in his belief that successful businesses have a responsibility to give back to their communities. Through the foundation, Dan supports food insecurity programs, cancer research, veteran initiatives, and other efforts that uplift children and families facing adversity.
