The Reactory biomanufacturing park at the former Worcester State Hospital is in line for $1.3 million from the federal government.
The money, to be used for infrastructure improvements, is part of a grant announced Friday by the U.S. Economic Development Administration. The agency is under the Department of Commerce.
The Reactory, off Belmont Street, is a 46-acre development targeting biomanufacturing. It is run by the nonprofit Worcester Business Development Corp.
Linda Cruz-Carnall, a regional director of the EDA, said, “This project will support the economic recovery and resiliency of the Southern Worcester County region through the construction of an access road and associated utilities needed to support the vital work being done at the Reactory Biotechnology Park.”
