BOSTON – Oct. 4, 2021 – Victoria Reggie Kennedy, senior counsel in the Corporate Practice of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been selected by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly as a 2021 “Top Women of Law” honoree. The award recognizes exceptional women lawyers who are pioneers, educators, trailblazers, and role models.
Kennedy was recognized as one of the Massachusetts region’s most influential leaders in the 2019 Boston Business Journal’s “Power 50” list. She also previously received the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Pinnacle Award for her vast contributions to and leadership in the local business and charitable communities.
At Greenberg Traurig, Kennedy draws on her experience and understanding of both the public and private sectors to craft creative strategies to help clients resolve complex business problems. She routinely guides collaborative teams to address all aspects of a client’s business and operations, and advises clients on governmental and regulatory issues, and messaging strategy.
Kennedy has served at the national level in key strategic and political roles on issues ranging from health, education, economic opportunity, and involvement in the political process. In July 2021, Kennedy was nominated by President Joe Biden to serve as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Austria.
She has been a leading voice on the empowerment of women and girls in society and remains an advocate for expanded medical research and access to health care for all Americans. She played an active role in the passage of the Affordable Care Act of 2010 and stood at President Obama’s side at the signing of the bill into law. Kennedy also is co-founder of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, as well as co-founder and president of the board. She serves on the board of directors of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and The New England Council.
