Eye on tax package

Life sciences industry leaders are also awaiting a forthcoming tax relief proposal, which is not reflected in the Legislature’s compromise budget. The budget designates $580 million to cover the costs of that proposal, which remains in a conference committee.

“We are grateful that the House and Senate got this budget completed before their break, as it contains important investments in priorities like career training and early college, and we eagerly await a strong final tax reform package that will help Massachusetts to remain competitive in attracting both companies and talent,” MassBio CEO and President Kendalle Burlin O’Connell said in a statement emailed to the Business Journal.
