Everett, MA – The Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio) and Middlesex Gases, a leading supplier of specialty, medical, and industrial gases in New England, are pleased to announce they have agreed to a new seven-year contract.
This contract extends the partnership between the two companies, which began in 2017, through the year 2030 and ensures that Middlesex Gases will remain the preferred supplier of packaged (cylinder), MicroBulk, and Bulk lab gases for MassBio members. Suppliers, like Middlesex Gases, are integral to the success of MassBioEdge, a savings and rewards program that provides industry-leading laboratory equipment, chemicals, supplies, services, and benefits at competitive discounts to all MassBio members. Middlesex Gases is also the preferred vendor for affiliates of MassBio: Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC), BioCT, and New Hampshire Life Sciences (NHLS).
Ron Perry, Middlesex Gases’ director of sales and marketing, says, “Our team feels privileged to be able to work daily with extremely talented professionals and scientists in the life sciences field across Massachusetts and Connecticut. It’s been a rewarding six years, knowing that our support helps advance their critical research and development efforts. In the years ahead, we look forward to being a part of the exciting discoveries that MassBio members are working on and are fully committed to providing them with the excellent service, products, and savings they deserve.”
Middlesex Gases has continuously made investments to expand its facilities and capabilities and meet the evolving gas requirements of all its customers. Some of these improvements include a state-of-the-art specialty gas lab and an in-house medical CO2 lab, which offer customers quick and easy access to a steady, high-quality supply of essential gases. In addition, Middlesex Gases is one of just three gas companies in New England that both manufactures and distributes dry ice. The company has an industrial dry ice pelletizer that can manufacture up to 1,700 pounds of product per hour, providing customers with a dependable supply of dry ice that is colder, higher quality, and longer lasting.
“Middlesex Gases has proven time and again that not only do they bring reliability, best-in-class service, and best-in-market pricing to our member companies, but they offer a deep understanding of the life sciences industry and our make-or-break dependence on gas in the lab,” said MassBio CEO & President Kendalle Burlin O’Connell. “Extending our partnership with Middlesex Gases is a no-brainer as they have put their heart into everything we do together. Our companies are working on life-changing yet sensitive scientific research, and Middlesex Gases offers them a partner that scales with them as their needs change, delivers peace of mind, and invests in their own infrastructure to meet the industry’s future demands.”
Through the Middlesex Gases and MassBio partnership, members receive price discounts on cylinder gas, rented or leased gas equipment, and related gas safety products. The company also offers annual rebate incentives for high-volume MassBio members based on their annual aggregate spend. In addition, members have access to valuable services such as:
