Joe Boncore to open consulting practice, stay on as policy advisor

November 11, 2022 (CAMBRIDGE, MA) – Today, the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio®) Board of Directors announced Joe Boncore will step down as CEO before the end of the year. Boncore is resigning as CEO to open a consulting practice and will remain an advisor to MassBio on state and federal issues.

Kendalle Burlin O’Connell, MassBio’s current President & COO, will succeed Boncore as CEO.

“Joe Boncore has established himself as leading voice on the critical policy issues facing biotech companies and the continued strength of this industry in Massachusetts,” said Pam Randhawa, chair of MassBio’s Board. “He will continue to lend that voice and expertise on state and federal issues to MassBio.”

Boncore joined MassBio as CEO in September 2021 to lead the organization’s efforts to sustain Massachusetts’ economic competitiveness focusing on issues around infrastructure, workforce, and digital health, managing federal affairs, as well as state and municipal government relations.
