Open Source Instruments (OSI) is an electrical engineering design firm that offers a complete telemetry system for in vivo measurement of biopotential data as well as bespoke design of research instrumentation. Nearly two decades of experience in encapsulated, implantable devices and four decades of experience in electrical engineering, metrology, and radio frequency puts OSI in a position to uniquely understand and effectively address client needs.
OSI’s small animal recording system provides high fidelity, continuous recording of biopotentials wirelessly, which allows for free movement and cohabitation of animals. OSI offers its own open-source software for automatic event detection or synchronization of animal video with device recordings at no cost. System add-ons include simultaneous optogenetic or electrical stimulation devices, precision camera monitoring, and animal tracking for disambiguation or sleep studies.
