Tufts University, in partnership with LabCentral, invites you to Tufts in Translation: A Faculty Speaker Series, spotlighting early-stage discoveries with strong translational relevance.

Larissa Calancie, PhD
Predicting Glucose Responses: Building a Virtual Platform for Precision Health
Thursday, November 12 | 11:30 AM-1:30 PM
LabCentral | 700 Main Street, Cambridge, MA

Predicting glucose responses is complex because food, beverages, physical activity, physiology, and treatment can all shape blood glucose levels.

On November 12, Larissa Calancie, PhD, will present a predictive glucose simulation platform that uses physiologically based modeling to forecast these responses. The platform has the potential to incorporate CGM and behavioral data, enabling personalized “what-if” scenarios related to diet, exercise, and treatment strategies.

Her presentation will also examine efforts to adapt the platform to glucose dynamics during pregnancy, an area with potential relevance to maternal health and gestational diabetes and one that remains underserved by existing digital health and decision-support tools.

Why Attend

  • A physiologically based, translational approach to predicting glucose responses
  • Insights into combining simulation, CGM, and behavioral data for precision health
  • Potential applications in maternal health and gestational diabetes
  • Opportunities to engage with Tufts researchers, share industry perspectives, and provide feedback on emerging research

Join us for an engaging discussion and networking over lunch.
