MassBio Wants You to #DonateLife!

Jan 03, 2017

The team at MassBio is kicking off 2017 with a #PatientDriven resolution—to raise awareness for organ donation and to work to register our members to #DonateLife!

Why?

120,000 men, women and children await lifesaving organ transplants. Even the largest football stadium in the US could not fit the number of patients on the national transplant waiting list.

Every 10 minutes another person is added to the national transplant waiting list.

8,000 deaths occur every year in the U.S. because organs are not donated in time.

It isn’t a hard sell– 95% of Americans are in favor of being a donor. But only 52% are actually registered. That’s why our team will be available at all our events and programs in January, sharing information and helping people register themselves online.

Want to help?

Register to be a Donor: Commit now to giving life to others when you die. Each registration serves as a symbol of hope to every patient awaiting a lifesaving or healing transplant.

Consider Being a Living Donor: Living donation is an opportunity to save a life while you are still living. It is not covered by your donor registration.

Spread the word: Watch our Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn feeds for information and important messages on organ donation and share, share, share with your audiences!

A special thanks to our new friends at the New England Organ Bank, one of the national organ procurement organizations (OPO), for their help in teaching us about this very important cause. Read some of their amazing patient stories online
